Felicitation and Presentation of Mamraj Agarwal Rashtriya Puraskar
The 15th felicitation and Award presenting ceremony is being held in a memorable function on 25th August 2012 at the Raj Bhavan, Kolkata. His Excellency Shri M.K.Narayanan, Governor of West Bengal will Inaugurate the function and present the prestigious Mamraj Agarwal Rashtriya Puraskar to the Brilliant students in Madhyamik Pariksha and Higher Secondary Examinations, 2012, in CBSE,ICSE,ISC Examination 2012 in West Bengal and also those who have secured Highest Marks in MBBS, LLB, Computer Science and CA. All the 98 awardees will be presented a ‘Certificate of Appreciation’ and cash prize of 5000/- each by his Excellency Shri M.K. Narayanan. This Award is given to motivate & encourage the students to excel in their respective fields and turning themselves into great assents for our country.
The welcome address will be delivered by Sri Mamraj Agarwala. Among Dignitaries and distinguished Guests, who grace the occasion will be, Smt. Padmini Narayana , Hon’ble First Lady of West Bengal, Shri Bratya Basu Minister-in- Charge School & Higher Education Govt. of West Bengal, Justice Shri Shyamal Kumar Sen, Former Governor of West Bengal & Former Chief Justice Allahabad High Court, Dr. Sujit Kumar Basu, Former Vice Chancellor Visva Bharati. A Brief Profile of Foundation
The Foundation is deeply associated with the various activities related to the service of the masses. The Foundation is organizing every year “Brilliant Students Award Giving Ceremony” at Raj Bhavan, Kolkata since1998 and also in Rajasthan at Raj Bhawan, Jaipur since 2002.It offers all kinds of help to the poor and distress students for continuation of their studies in well manner. Foundation has donated a number of Computers to different schools & organizations. Many hospitals have received funds and support in kind from its associate” Mamraj Jayatri Trust” for the construction of buildings, operation theatres, rehabilitation centers and for allied purposes. Trust have provided free beds, cabins and equipment to hospitals and medical organizations. An air conditioned, fully equipped life care Ambulance was provided to Nagarik Swasthya Sangh which was inaugurated by then H.E.Justice Shri Shyamal Kumar Sen,the Governor of West Bengal at Raj Bhawan. Two Ambulances were donated on different occasions to the Governor of West Bengal at Raj Bhawan for the benefit of the people around Raj Bhawan, High Court and Writer’s Building. Trust has donated a plot of land of 24 bighas to Bharat Sevashram Sangh at Ghatshila for constructing a Hospital. Every year many camps are being organized for free eye operations (IOL) and free spectacles distribution. These are sponsored by Mamraj Agarwal Foundation through AIIMS Delhi, Lions Hospital, Ramkrishna Mission and other social organizations to remove the blindness of poor and needy people.
In the year 2009 a felicitation ceremony was held by Mamraj Agarwal Foundation at Rastrapati Bhawan and H.E.Smt.Pratibha Devisingh Patil, President of India presented “Rashtriya Gyanodayam Samman” to Justice Sri Shyamal Kumar Sen & Justice Anshuman Singh. Similarly “ Rashtriya Sevaratna Samman “was awarded to Smt. Sharda Fatehpuria & Smt. Alka Bangur.
The main person behind all these activities is our founder President of Foundation & Trust Shri Mamraj Agarwala. He has primarily devoted himself in the service of humanity. In the year 2000, he was awarded “ Danbir Bhamashah Smriti Samman “ which was handed over by Shri Viren J. Shah, the Governor of West Bengal at a function in the Raj Bhavan , Kolkata. He was honoured with the “Netaji Award” for social work by the former prime Minister of India, Late Chandrasekhar at Kala Mandir, Kolkata and the “Millennium Seva Ratna Award” was given by H.E. Sri O.P Sharma, the Governor of Nagaland at Taj Bengal, Kolkata. He also received the “International Michael Madhusudan Award” for social work by Justice Shri Shyamal Kumar Sen, Hon’ble Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court at Great Eastern Hotel, Kolkata on 30-11-2002. He was honoured with the “ AGRA- GOURAV” Samman by All India Agarwal Sammelan, New Delhi for the excellent work in the field of education on 27-07-2006. He was also honoured with “ Agarwal Samman” by Agrasain Smriti Bhawan,Kolkata on 14-10-2007.He received “Uttam Kumar Life Time Achivement Award” for social work on 19-12-2007 at Kolkata. He was awarded “Padma Shri ” on 24th March in the year 2011 by the President of India,Smt.Pratibha Devisingh Patil,at Rastrapati Bhawan,New Delhi.
